I am David Rizzo, a fine art photographer based in New Orleans, Louisiana. My journey into serious photographic practice began in 2019, when I undertook formal training with an instructor from the Austin School of Photography. Those courses transformed my relationship with the camera and opened my eyes to photography's potential as a means of visual storytelling.
I seek to capture fleeting instances of clarity within the flow of everyday life. My work explores the intersection of spontaneity and composition, where careful observation meets instinctive timing.
New Orleans, with its complex layers of culture, light, and humanity, serves as both my home and an endless source of inspiration. The city's rhythm informs my approach—teaching me to remain patient yet alert, to anticipate moments before they fully materialize, and to honor the authentic dignity of my subjects.
My aspiration is to create images that transcend mere documentation, revealing instead the poetry hidden within ordinary moments.
