We live in New Orleans and we stayed in the city during hurricane Ida. It was a relentless storm. I have stayed for many storms and I cannot remember one being as unrelenting as Ida. Eight transmission towers were damaged and the entire city was dark. Thankfully, our new levee system held and there was no flooding in the City.
My parents own a home in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. We learned that it had power and we made our way there the day after the storm. Bay St. Louis was relatively unscathed save for some beached sailboats. We made out okay, but many people in south Louisiana are really suffering.
